Why do I need a highlight reel?
Your highlight reel is often your first impression with a college coach. It shows who you are, what you can do, and why they should take a closer look.
Will a highlight reel guarantee I get an offer from my dream school?
Not quite. A highlight reel is just one part of your overall recruiting profile. While it can get you noticed, your athletic performance, academics, extracurriculars, and overall character all play major roles in a coach’s decision-making process.
Can’t I just make my own highlight reel?
Absolutely! But there’s an art to it. A great reel needs to be clean, strategic, and easy to follow—especially for a coach watching for the first time. Coaches are busy, and if they have to work to figure out what they’re looking at, they’ll move on.
My clips are from multiple sources—Hudl, SportsRecruits, and my iPhone. Is that okay?
Definitely. We can work with a mix of sources. Just contact us first so we can help determine which package fits your needs.
Can you use clips I saved from Instagram?
Usually, yes. Original footage is always best (it gives us more flexibility), but if Instagram clips are all you have, we’ll do our best and will let you know if anything isn’t usable.
How long do clips need to be?
It depends on the sport and the play. A basketball assist may only take a few seconds, while a soccer or lacrosse play might need more context. Often, the lead-up is just as important as the finish—it shows decision-making and game IQ. When in doubt, send us the longer version!
How long should my reel be?
Aim for 3.5 minutes or less. Coaches may only watch the first minute, so our job is to hook them early—and keep them watching.
Do I need music on my highlight reel?
Not at all. Many coaches watch reels with the volume off. That said, music is a great touch for social media posts and adds some energy if you're sharing with friends and family. If you order music, we’ll also provide a music-free version so you can share the reel in whatever way works best for your audience.
What’s the turnaround time after I place my order?
Once we receive your order and all necessary media, your reel will be ready within five business days. Need it sooner? Just ask! We may be able to expedite it depending on our current queue.
Can I update my reel later in the season?
Yes! If we’ve created your reel within the last 6 months, you’re eligible for our Reel Refresher service. We can add or swap clips to keep your reel current as your season progresses.
How often should I update or make a new highlight reel?
During your recruitment period, aim to create a new reel each season that showcases your most recent and relevant performances. When following up with coaches, it’s important to send fresh material so they can see how your game is progressing and where you're continuing to add value on the field.
What sports do you cover?
We specialize in team sports like lacrosse, soccer, basketball, football, field hockey, and more. If your sport isn’t listed, just reach out — chances are, we can make it happen!
